In my fourth year at Brock University I had the opportunity to intern for the YWCA of Niagara as a public relations intern. While interning for The YWCA of Niagara, I explored with creativity by developing social media marketing strategies as well as creating ways in which the YWCA could enhance their overall brand. I worked independently designing creative pieces such as posters, brochures, flyers, media releases, as well as photo advisories for particular events associated with the YWCA using both Microsoft Publisher and InDesign.


In addition to the YWCA, I interned for Eventistry by Alecia in my second semester as a special events and marketing intern.  While working and communicating with the Eventistry team online, I was given research tasks involving seeking out prices for event materials, venues, products for the guests, etc. This was done through making direct phone calls to various companies, sending out emails, and conducting research. I also was involved in managing Alecia’s Facebook group “Authentic You”. I designed various graphics and posted content on a weekly basis to encourage engagement and motivate her group members.
